Which tech companies sponsor visas? What 4,083 job postings say
Few tech postings say they sponsor visas, more rule it out, and most say nothing. The numbers, and the companies whose postings say they sponsor.

The short answer
Very few tech job postings say they sponsor visas, and most say nothing at all. We read the descriptions of 2,555 open tech internships and 1,528 new grad roles on October 30, 2026. Under 1 percent of internship and new grad descriptions said they sponsor, sometimes with conditions, at companies such as Agave, Metaview, Sim, SingleStore, Kikoff, and the Allen Institute for AI. Far more ruled it out: 18 percent of internship descriptions and 12 percent of new grad descriptions said they will not sponsor, and 8 and 18 percent required U.S. citizenship or a security clearance. About 70 percent said nothing either way. So silence is not a no: the employer's application form is where most of them ask, and 63 percent of the tech forms we read asked about sponsorship.
If you will need a visa, the first question about any job is whether the employer will sponsor you. We read thousands of open tech job descriptions to see how many answer it, and what they say.
What we measured
On October 30, 2026, we read the full description of every open posting on the SimplifyJobs internship and new grad trackers, the feed behind Arial's job board, that applies through Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, or Workday, one per role, leaving out roles only in Canada and contract AI-training gigs: 2,555 internship roles and 1,528 new grad roles. We sorted each by what it says: that it sponsors, that it will not, that it requires U.S. citizenship or a clearance, or nothing. A description counts as sponsoring when it says so in its own words, such as "we sponsor visas" or "visa sponsorship is available", including statements with conditions, and we checked each of those by hand. What tech job postings say about sponsorship
Scroll sideways to see every column
| The description says | Internships | New grad roles |
|---|---|---|
| It sponsors visas, sometimes with conditions | 0.4% | 1.0% |
| It will not sponsor | 17.7% | 12.3% |
| U.S. citizenship or a clearance is required | 8.1% | 18.0% |
| Nothing about sponsorship | 73.6% | 68.6% |
Statements against sponsorship outnumber statements for it by more than ten to one. Citizenship and clearance requirements are more common in new grad roles, mostly at defense and aerospace employers such as RTX, SpaceX, and Northrop Grumman. And most postings simply do not say. A few descriptions both offer and limit sponsorship, such as Anthropic's, which says it sponsors visas but cannot for every role, so we counted those separately. These are the companies whose open U.S. tech roles said so in their own words on October 30, 2026; most are startups. Others said it more narrowly: RTX said it will offer immigration sponsorship, if needed, on 2 of its 128 open roles; Kodiak Robotics may provide sponsorship for eligible candidates; and BP may on a case-by-case basis. Postings change, so confirm on the current posting before you apply. Companies whose postings rule it out
More than 200 companies had at least one open tech role that said it will not sponsor. The ones with the most such roles included Procter & Gamble, Highmark Health, Rockwell Automation, Vanguard, Johnson & Johnson, Citi, Auto-Owners Insurance, and GE Vernova. If you need sponsorship, check each employer's own posting rather than assuming from its size or industry. How to find sponsoring jobs faster
- Skip the roles that rule you out. A posting that says it will not sponsor, or requires citizenship or a clearance, is a no.
- Do not skip the silent ones. Most postings say nothing, and many of those employers do sponsor; the form or the recruiter will tell you.
- Favor companies that say they sponsor, and startups in particular, where it is stated most often.
- Answer the sponsorship question on every form exactly as asked. The wording changes from employer to employer.
On Arial, you save your work authorization and sponsorship needs once in your application profile. When you prepare an application, the agent answers each form's sponsorship and authorization questions only from those facts, never by guessing, and leaves any question whose choices do not fit your answer for you.
Very few tech postings promise sponsorship, about one in six rule it out, and most leave it to the form. Knowing which is which keeps your applications on the jobs you can actually take.
